Discover Four Fabulous Fall Getaways

Are you wondering where to travel this fall if you live in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom? These fabulous fall getaways are a few of my favourite places to visit at this time of year. 

Many destinations have travel restrictions in place as a result of the global pandemic. Visit the relevant government website for the latest information on travel requirements and confirm any quarantine requirements when you return home. Only travel if you feel safe. 

Vancouver, B.C.

Vancouver is sophisticated, culturally-rich, and easy to reach from many parts of the world. While in the city, plane to run or walk along the Stanley Park seawall, wander the colourful stalls at Granville Island Market, and shop for the latest fall fashions at Holt Renfrew (Canada’s luxury department store). Families will want to visit Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre park with beaches and ancient trees that borders downtown Vancouver.

Whistler, B.C.

Fall is an excellent time to visit Whistler. Hiking trails are open, the fall colours are spectacular, and many hotels, spas, and restaurants offer promotions. We often hike into November, but winter can arrive early in the mountains, so be sure to check the weather forecast if you are planning a fall getaway.

Plan to attend Cornucopia (Whistler’s celebration of food and drink) in November if you enjoy culinary events. Visit the Cornucopia website for dates, tickets, event information, and accommodation packages.

Arizona, U.S.A.

If you want to soak up the sun, plan a vacation at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale. Sun-filled days, scenic hiking trails, and poolside margaritas make Arizona an excellent fall gateway for anyone counting the days until summer returns. London, U.K.

Late fall is an excellent time to visit London. Christmas decorations glow above shopping streets, store windows sparkle, and the fall foliage at Kensington Gardens is spectacular. If you are looking for a place to stay, make a reservation at London’s Ham Yard Hotel. This gorgeous hotel is in the perfect location for exploring the city. • Vancouver International Airport (YVR), is often named Best Airport in North America at the Skytrax World Airport Awards. From YVR, there are numerous transportation options from the airport to the city and beyond.
• Furthermore, Whistler is located approximately 90 minutes from Vancouver via the Sea to Sky Highway. To help you plan your trip, here is a link to various transportation options.
• Lastly, if you visit London, the London Underground (AKA the Tube) is a convenient way to get around the city. Uber is an excellent choice for transportation to and from London’s Heathrow and City airports. For London’s Gatwick airport, consider the Gatwick Express train from Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal to London’s Victoria Station.
